Windy
100 Chicago - When we launched in the fall
of 1997 the station had a 3.2 women 25-54, our main competitor WLIT
had an 8.0. By fall 98 we beat WLIT 5.5 to 5.2 and by summer 2000 we
had a 5.4 to their 3.8. We carried a better or comparable four book
average into spring 2001. We also moved the billing from 8 million to
17 million through this period of time.
WBEB
Philadelphia - In July of 1992 WEAZ was the
fourth of four A/C's. Star 104.5 was by far number one, followed by
Magic, then Kiss and EZ-101 were pretty well tied for last. We spent
the first year trying to reposition EZ-101 as a bright contemporary
radio station. It was impossible to shake the soft sleepy image. In
the spring of 1993 we launched WBEB - B-101 and by spring of 94 we were
the number one radio station in Philadelphia women 25-54. From there
the Bee has continued to soar upward and dominated every demo in Philadelphia.
W-4
Country Detroit - In just two books we turned
W4 around to beat Young Country for the first time since WYCD launched
a direct attack on W4. This was a classic case of a complete re-imaging
for W4, from on air presentation to marketing. From February 95 through
June of 97 we beat WYCD more books than they beat us.
